The San Gabriel Unified School District (SGUSD) is helping lead the way in exploring new revenue models to support educational and extracurricular programs.
When SGUSD partnered with FilmL.A. in 2009 and took steps to centralize and streamline its on-location filming license process, the District and its five elementary schools, one middle school, one charter school, one comprehensive high school, and one continuation high school tapped into a potential source of income that brings enormous benefits for educators, parents and the over 6,000 students currently served by the District.
SGUSD schools serve a city population of over 40,000 residents and are spread throughout a 4.1 square-mile area bordered by the cities of San Marino to the north, Temple City to the east, Rosemead to the south and Alhambra to the west.
