Summer is winding down but FilmL.A.’s community movie night sponsorships continue!
Since 2014, FilmL.A. has partnered with local elected officials, local Neighborhood Councils and film industry sponsors to facilitate free community movie nights for area residents and their families. FilmL.A.’s support for community film events takes the form of providing free refreshments or sourcing projection equipment and/or film licenses. FilmL.A.’s community relations staff uses the events to meet local residents, and thank them for supporting filming in their communities.
Some of the most recent movie nights were held in Studio City during the Summer Movies in the Park series at Beeman Park (Apollo 13), the Avalon/Wilmington area as part of the family movie night series with Avalon Arts & Cultural Alliance at Banning Park (Goonies), in Woodland Hills as part of the Movies on the Green screening series at the Valley Cultural Center (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), as part of Councilmember Cedillo’s screening series at Glassell Park Recreation Center (Zootopia) and the Echo Park Film Series in partnership with Councilmember O’Farrell’s office at Echo Park Lake (Cabaret).
For the fall season, FilmL.A.’s community relations staff will continue to support various screening and community supportive events. All FilmL.A. sponsored movie screenings are free and open to the public, so we enthusiastically encourage you and your family to stop by! Check our social media pages for notice of upcoming events. You can find FilmL.A. on Facebook , Twitter and Instagram.
