Next Monday, June 15, FilmLA will resume coordinating requests to film on-location in areas under the jurisdiction of the County of Los Angeles, City of Los Angeles, and a handful of other local cities. We look forward to again being of service to the region’s creative community.
No new film permits have been issued, and no filming on-location allowed in Greater Los Angeles, since Safer at Home orders were enacted in March to slow the spread of COVID-19.
FilmLA’s reactivation follows action by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, which this week issued an update to its Stay at Home Order, allowing many additional types of businesses to reopen. This is good news for all Angelenos, as the safe, responsible return of filming will benefit LA’s economic recovery.
Reopening local communities to filming is predicated on the film industry’s adherence to specific, County-issued health protocols. Those protocols include social distancing, use of personal protective equipment, strict sanitation standards, and regular testing requirements. Restrictions on specific location use, etc., may also apply.
Together with other important resources, the County’s health orders are available for review online via FilmLA’s COVID-19 Resource Center, which we encourage you to review regularly for updates.
Although our Hollywood office will remain closed to the public, FilmLA will resume standard hours of operation from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., starting Monday, June 15. Our Solution Services team is standing by at 213.977.8600 to answer your questions.
