Summer Restrictions for Los Angeles County Beaches and Harbors

With summer right around the corner, Southern California beaches are preparing for the annual influx of visitors heading to the sand and surf.  In support of that, Los Angeles County Beaches and Harbors will once again be rolling out their standard summer filming restrictions.

The 2026 Summer season will span from Friday, May 22nd through Sunday, September 13th.  Please note the following limitations during this period.

No Filming, Still Photography,
or Production Parking
Restricted Days
All County owned or operated beach properties
(including County properties in Marina del Rey)
Weekends
All County owned or operated beach propertiesSummer Holidays:
Memorial Day (May 22-May 26),
Independence Day (July 3-July 5),
Labor Day (September 4-September 8)
Malibu Surfrider Beach (including the parking lot)Every Day
Venice Beach at the Breakwater and “Avenues” towers
(Ave 18-Ave 26 towers)
Every Day
Zuma Beach – at all towers*Every Day
*Zuma Beach parking lots for crew parking and basecamp may be available for weekday use only on a case-by-case basis.

Please note that the weekend restriction for all Los Angeles County parking lots means no equipment left over weekends.
