Filming in The Port of Los Angeles Restricted During Fleet Week 2025

LA Harbor Fleet Week Production Alert

The LA Waterfront at The Port of Los Angeles will be hosting LA Fleet Week from May 21st to May 26th, 2025. LA Fleet Week hosts a variety of activities for visiting military personnel and the general public.

This six-day celebration will feature active-duty ship tours, educational sessions, military displays and equipment demonstrations, military aircraft flyovers, and much more.

Based on the events schedule and preparation throughout the San Pedro area occurring prior to, during, and after Fleet Week, the following restrictions have been put in place.

PORT OF LA RESTRICTIONS

No filming-related activity (including parking/basecamps) will be permitted within the Harbor’s jurisdiction from May 17th through May 31st  No Exceptions.

Deadlines for filming on Port property after May 31st are as follows:

  • June 1st – 2nd due on or before May 21st
  • June 3rd due on or before May 22nd
  • June 4th due on or before May 23rd

All permit applications are due no later than 10am.

Standard permit deadlines will resume after June 4th.

SAN PEDRO BUSINESS DISTRICT (BID) RESTRICTIONS

No filming related activity (including parking/basecamps) will be permitted within the BID’s boundaries (3rd ST to the north, Harbor BLVD to the east, 9th ST to the south, S. Pacific AVE to the west), from May 16th through May 31st.

Productions with minimal activity may be allowed between May 10th through 15th.
Minimal activity is defined as:

  • Production cast/crew counts of 15 people or less.
  • No posted parking or closures of any kind
  • No high impact/exceptional activity.
  • No surveys are required.
  • All special conditions and deadlines apply.

In preparation, the Port of Los Angeles would like to remind the film industry that applications to film on Port property need to be submitted to FilmLA no less than 7 full business days in advance of any prep and/or filming activity. Additional permits may be required depending on filming activities and locations used within the Port.
