Preparations are being made for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, which will take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026. FilmLA has worked closely with local permit authorities and city and county partners to adopt a strategic, limited approach to filming restrictions.
By focusing those restrictions on established Fan Zones and other areas anticipating high volumes of public traffic, FilmLA and its partners are helping to avoid large-scale moratoriums and limit disruption to the region’s critical production community.
Below is a list of areas that FilmLA has been made aware of, the dates of the restrictions, and what restrictions apply. This list will be updated if any additions or changes are made. Please check back regularly or contact FilmLA’s Production Planning team at info@filmla.com or (213) 977-8600.

Aerial Restrictions
Because of the anticipated public gatherings for the World Cup, the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) has enacted Temporary Flight Restrictions around pre-planned public watch parties, in addition to the World Cup Venues.
Temporary Flight Restrictions require a waiver of exemption from the FAA, which can add to production’s timeline for providing the required documentation to FilmLA. If the required waivers are not submitted to FilmLA, then drone flight cannot proceed, per the FAA. The City of Los Angeles requires a minimum of three (3) business days to process Drone Activity, with additional time needed to review waivers of exemptions.
It is production and the drone pilot’s responsibility to ensure flight activities do not conflict with existing and temporary flight restrictions. Linked below is an interactive map with up-to-date flight restrictions.
