Pending Labor Action Could Impact Filming on LAUSD Properties Beginning April 14

Production Alert over DTLA backdrop

In anticipation of potential labor action beginning April 14, 2026, with an undetermined end date, school operations and staffing may be impacted.

Filming and/or parking access to school facilities may be limited or unavailable during this time, depending on site-specific staffing and operational conditions. New requests during a potential strike period should be coordinated with school site administrators, where available, prior to submission to FilmLA for processing. Due to reduced staffing, communication with school administrators, availability of custodial support, and access to school sites may be constrained.

Active permits and license agreements during strike action may be subject to modification or cancellation based on site conditions and available staffing. FilmLA will contact any potentially affected productions regarding the need to modify or cancel their permit.

As a reminder, basic requests for LAUSD properties take four business days to process. The use of special effects, animals, and other extraordinary activity require more time. Strike days are not considered business days for processing. Requests during strike action and immediately following must account for additional processing times.

Strike action may occur beginning April 14th, 2026, with an unknown duration.
