Park Officials Urge Caution re: Snakes in Regional Parks

FilmLAProduction Alerts

The Park Film Office and FilmL.A. jointly urge film industry personnel to be mindful of possible wildlife encounters when filming in area parks.

Increased rains brought heavy brush and vegetation this year. Because of this, we are experiencing an increase in snake population and activity in large and regional parks.

Please know that Park Rangers are not available for catch and release of snakes encountered during film production. On-set Animal Wranglers are highly encouraged; FilmL.A.’s Production Planning Department can refer you to these resources as necessary.

Meanwhile, production personnel working in large or regional parks should:

  • Be cautious: Look before you step in high or heavy brush
  • Wear appropriate footwear and loose pants
  • Stay on designated trails only
