FilmLAProduction Alerts

The County of Los Angeles Animal Care and Control office has notified FilmL.A. of its processes for the use of animals on film sets. When using a live animal for still or motion filming, production companies will be required to contact the Department of Animal Care and Control to obtain a Permit for Animal Exhibition. This requirement applies to all areas of LA County including private properties, Unincorporated LA County areas, LA County Beaches & Harbors, LA County Parks, LA County Roads and all LA County Facilities. These requirements also apply to the cities of Industry and Palmdale.

The fees for Animal Exhibition Permits are $250 for the first film day and $25 for each additional day. Payment must be made to the LA County Animal Care & Control Enforcement Officer during the on-set inspection. FilmL.A. will not be collecting these fees.
