Earlier this month, FilmL.A. sent a small delegation to attend the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The purpose of the trip was to network with film and television decision makers and help spread the message that Los Angeles is open for business.
FilmL.A., of course, is at the center of that effort. With complimentary production planning services, convenient cross-jurisdictional permitting and LocoScout powered location search, FilmL.A. went to Park City to deliver a message to filmmakers — “You can make it in Los Angeles. We can make it work.”
The 2013 Festival marks FilmL.A.’s second year at Sundance and our first year with a direct marketing presence. FilmL.A. took out a full page ad on the back cover of this year’s Inside Sundance Institute Magazine, encouraging filmmakers to bring their projects here.
Representatives from Film Liaisons in California Statewide (FLICS) also made the trip to promote filming in other parts of the Golden State.
“We recognize that we have to compete for this business,” said FilmL.A. President Paul Audley. “We won’t sit around and watch out-of-state competitors step up their filmmaker outreach; you will see us actively recruiting new projects to film in Los Angeles.”
