On March 9, Team FilmL.A. came together for another go at the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon. Team FilmL.A. included FilmL.A. Monitor Adam Meyer, Production Planning Manager Amy Soule, Production Planning Coordinator Daniel Alvarez and Accounting Assistant Bryan Gonzalez.
Team FilmL.A. joined 21,829 runners from all 50 U.S. States and 55 nations, all eager to make the mass trek from Dodger’s Stadium to the finish line in Santa Monica. Overall, the race was hailed as one of the most successful ever, with near-record crowds. About 75,000 spectators lined the course in Santa Monica alone, making it the city’s largest annual one-day event. More than one-third of participants were running for the first time and just over half were new participants in the L.A. Marathon, according to organizers.
This year’s spectator entertainment included 25 bands, four entertainment centers and more than 600 cheerleaders ready to cheer on participants. Race-day temperatures climbed to 81 degrees at the finish line, the highest ever recorded since the L.A. Marathon began its 26.2-mile “Stadium to the Sea” course five years ago.
This year marked the fourth year that FilmL.A. has supported a team of participating runners. Sponsorship of Team FilmL.A. is among the several health and wellness related programs FilmL.A. offers to its employees.
Congratulations, Team FilmL.A. and thanks for representing us well!
