On December 3, 2010, the FilmL.A. Board of Directors voted to elect Ed Duffy, business agent for Teamsters Local 399, as its chair for 2011. By accepting the nomination, Duffy succeeds Pamm Fair, independent political consultant and entertainment labor executive, who held the post from January 2009 through the end of 2010. Duffy is a member of FilmL.A.’s executive committee and has chaired its operations subcommittee since joining the board in 2008.

Bill Allen, president and CEO of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), was elected to the post of first vice chair. Mike Miller, international vice president and division director of motion picture and television production at IATSE, was tapped to serve as board treasurer/vice chair of finance, and Leron Gubler, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, was named board secretary.

Barry Greenberg, CEO of Celebrity Connection and head of FilmL.A.’s nominating subcommittee, presided over the board and officer elections. Nine members whose terms were set to expire were offered opportunities to renew their service for another three-year term. No board members retired in December, but a total of seven new members were invited to join for 2011, bringing the board’s total membership to 30.
