This summer, FilmL.A.’s community relations team continues its support for Summer Movie Nights and Movies in the Park events. Since 2014, FilmL.A. has partnered with local elected officials, local Neighborhood Councils and film industry sponsors to facilitate free summer movie nights for area residents and their families. FilmL.A.’s support takes the form of free refreshments or obtaining equipment and/or film licenses. The community relations team uses the events to meet local residents, and thank them for supporting filming in their communities.
This year’s activities kicked off in June, with eight co-sponsored screenings, and another six screenings were added in July. Some of the films presented included “Goosebumps,” “The Croods,” “Hotel Transylvania 2,” “Jumanji,” “Inside Out,” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Hosting venues included Jamie Beth Slavin Park, Woodley Park Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area, the Playa Vista Band Shell, Normandie Park, Red Shield Community Center, Pershing Square, and Banning Park, among others.
All FilmL.A. sponsored movie screenings are free and open to the public, so we enthusiastically encourage you and your family to stop by! The screening series continues, so be sure to check our social media pages for upcoming events. You can find FilmL.A. on Facebook , Twitter and Instagram.
