NBCUniversal and LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger will host the “LAUNCH Talk: Inside the World of Production Accounting” webinar discussing entertainment industry career opportunities on Wednesday, October 19, at 12:30 pm PDT.

The LAUNCH Talk will give participants a better understanding of a Production Accountant’s career path, a position currently in high demand in the entertainment industry. This growing field typically doesn’t require a degree and usually involves on-the-job training.

The LAUNCH Talk is presented by NBCU LAUNCH, the umbrella brand that houses the comprehensive diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across NBCU’s Entertainment Networks and Universal Studio Group. It aims to diversify the experienced talent pool within the television industry.

“I’m proud to collaborate with NBCUniversal to support the recruitment of more diverse talent to the little-known field of production accounting,” said Supervisor Barger. “There’s no doubt that the entertainment industry is an economic powerhouse in L.A. County. I wholeheartedly support bringing experts to the table who can speak about entry-level job opportunities and career paths. To uplift our diverse communities, we must also dedicate resources and time to bringing information and support to them. LAUNCH Talk accomplishes that.”

Melissa Lintinger, SVP of Production Finance at Universal Studio Group, will host the webinar and provide insight into the role, including details on a day in the life in the profession and tips on securing the job. She will be joined by panelists from the field to help answer participant’s questions.

The webinar is open to anyone interested in learning more about Production Accounting.

  1. I’m curious to see how this is presented. I’ve been wanting to start training bookkeepers on production accounting.
