Updated: March 9th @5:20pm
For the weekend of March 12th to March 13th, MyFilmLA will be unavailable beginning at noon on Saturday 3/12 through approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, 3/13.
Permit applicants who anticipate filming from March 12th through March 14th should take delivery of finalized permits on Friday March 11th, if possible.
A recent FilmLA Production Alert announced a major planned update to MyFilmLA, which would significantly limit users’ ability to access the system on March 5th and 6th, with a full return to service by March 7th.
The purpose of this updated Production Alert is to announce that FilmLA’s system update timetable has changed, and MyFilmLA will not be offline for most of the coming weekend, as originally planned.
One of our goals is to ensure MyFilmLA system performance fully meets our customers’ and clients’ need to get permits processed with no risk of downtime during regular business hours.
During our preparation this week, we uncovered some issues that our software vendor was not able to address quickly enough to avoid all potential risk during the planned upgrade activities. Accordingly, FilmLA is modifying its MyFilmLA update schedule to divide and spread out update related tasks across two weekends.
The purpose for this is twofold:
- First, FilmLA seeks to limit wherever possible the total duration and frequency of MyFilmLA maintenance periods, while preserving full system access for permit seekers and government approvers during regular business hours, M-F.
- Second, the rare need to apply an update of this size carries with it a risk of system downtime and instability. The MyFilmLA development team is committed to making sure these risks are addressed in testing and not borne directly by our users.
For the weekend of March 5th to March 6th, MyFilmLA will now be fully operative, except for an eight-hour maintenance window beginning at noon on Saturday, March 5th.
