In an effort to alleviate traffic congestion in the area around the Washington Boulevard parking lot, and vehicle back up on Washington Blvd. in particular, the Department of Beach and Harbors has informed FilmL.A. of a pilot program currently in place that allows patrons to pay for parking at a pay station after they park their vehicles, instead of at the lot’s entrance.
As a result, Modern Parking Inc. (MPI) the company who manages L.A. County Beaches parking lots, has made the following policy changes regarding last minute reservations related vehicles at the Washington lot only. To secure parking for production related vehicles, MPI will accept payments for parking permits at the Washington lot before 3:00 pm, one day prior to the requested date. Requests received after the deadline will not be honored.
Also, a FilmL.A. Monitor will be stationed at the Washington lot to ensure that production vehicles are parked in designated areas, for the time allotted. FilmL.A. Monitors will also enforce the conditions of the film permit. Parking permits, once secured, must be placed inside all windshields, otherwise citations will be issued. A list of General Parking Conditions at MPI contracted lots is available on the FilmL.A. website, in the “Forms and Requirements” section.
