Tomorrow, 9/28/19, FilmLA will introduce a beta reservation system to make it easier for filmmakers to identify and reserve LA County-operated beaches for filming related activity.
The new tool will replace the PDF form and email process previously employed and is expected to immediately streamline communications between FilmLA and the production community.
By using the online tool, filmmakers will be able to easily identify which beaches are available/unavailable for filming on specific dates, and request to reserve available sections of LA County-operated beaches for filming. Once an inquiry has been received, a system generated message will quickly follow. Beach availability information will be as accurate and as real-time as FilmLA can make it, based on updates sent to us from LA County Beaches & Harbors, and as with the current process, Beaches and Harbors will continue to review and approve all requests.
In order to film at area beaches, a reservation holder must also apply for a film permit, allowing FilmLA and the Department of Beaches & Harbors to review all proposed activity to protect the beach and the public. FilmLA’s goal is to expand the reservation system to include parks, government buildings, and other reservable properties, in the near future.
If you have any questions about the beta reservation system or about reserving government properties for filming, we invite you to contact a Solution Services Representative by calling 213-977-8600 or via email at info@filmla.com
