With the summer months approaching, FilmL.A.’s community relations team is gearing up for another fantastic season supporting free outdoor film screenings throughout Los Angeles.

The first of many FilmL.A. sponsored movies in the park took place on May 21 in Glassell Park area.  Council District 13’s “Night Under The Stars” Community Resource Fair and Movie Night brought local residents to Juntos Family Park to enjoy live music, free food, giveaways and a movie sponsored by FilmL.A.  This event was co-sponsored by the City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department and the Office of Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell.

“We were excited to partner with Councilmember O’Farrell and the Recreation and Parks department for this event,” said Arturo Pina, Community Outreach Liaison with FilmL.A.  “Local summer movie programs are a great way to meet our community neighbors in a fun family environment.”

Since 2014, FilmL.A. has partnered with local elected officials, local Neighborhood Councils and film industry sponsors to facilitate free summer movie nights for area residents and their families.  Support takes the form of offering free refreshments or obtaining equipment and film licenses.  FilmL.A. uses the events as opportunities to thank local communities for becoming and remaining film friendly.

All FilmL.A. sponsored movie screenings are free and open to the public.  Be sure to check our social media pages for upcoming events.  Follow us on Facebook , Twitter  and Instagram.
