On August 13, 2009, the La Habra Heights City Council voted to approve a contract with FilmL.A. for on-location film permit coordination. This new agreement means FilmL.A. will now coordinate film production on private and public property within La Habra Heights’ city limits. Filmmakers can combine La Habra Heights locations with those in other areas served by FilmL.A. on a single multi-jurisdictional permit.
Located just 25 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles, within the Thirty-Mile Zone, La Habra Heights is a picturesque community comprised of hillside estates, grasslands, oak woodlands, avocado and citrus groves, riding trails and panoramic views. The community is characterized by a combination of residential, agricultural and open space areas.
“Filmmakers may not be familiar with our city or know what great resources we offer. This partnership with FilmL.A. helps us market these resources and ensures the process to film in La Habra Heights is handled smoothly and professionally by experts,” said La Habra Heights’ City Manager, Shauna Clark.
The first day of service will be October 1, 2009. FilmL.A. and the City are working in the interim to revise the City’s film ordinance and develop a fee structure.
